Im about to buy a computer with 4gigs and a core 2 quad processor. Im debating as to whether i want to put the 32 or 64 bit verson on it. Ive heard some horror stories about vista (i love my xp 32 but everything is going towards vista) and that a lot of programs/drivers wont work with the 64 bit. Is this true and which do you guys think is the better buy?

The stories about stuff not working is false, ive been on Vista x64 now for a year, never once had a problem with drivers. Not once.

Firstly to use 4gb of ram, you'll have to get 64bit. Lol pure n simple.

exactly...you have to have the 64-bit for windows to be able to "see" all 4GB's of RAM

I dont get it! Why would you have to think about getting 32bit over 64bit? 64bit all the way!!!!

Yeah, but there's little or no improvement between 2GB's and 4GB's of RAM. Since it's ultra cheap though 4GB's may still be worth it, but it doesn't do much. 32 bit sees 3.25, and the real world difference between that and 4GB's is probably non existent.
I would do 64 though since people are saying there's no driver issues, and that is supposedly the downside of 64 bit.

well he can use the 32 bit. vista will still say 4 gig ram installed in the computer properties to fool the novice user but he'll actually use 3.5 gigs
anyway, if you're going vista you might as well use 64 bit

If your buying vista, check this out:
http://www.newegg.com/microsoft/ I think there are also 64 bit offers if that's what you decide.
