You're welcome. I tried to put Ubuntu on my sister's comp but she didn't like it!

I was like "You know what?! format it back to XP yourself!"

BTW: you can burn an ISO image on a CD with "CDBurnerXP"

Haha!

My sis won't let me any-where near her laptop, even when I'm trying to help, it's riddled with virus' and spyware!

If you don't mind putting up with seeing an IE window opening up for buying the full retail version after each burn of an iso image I've been working with the free version of BurnOn for some time now. That includes varying distros downloaded in iso disk images as well as the Linux drive tool GParted. http://www.burnworld.com/burnoncddvd/

With a good brand of blank cd-rs you can get reliable burns with the free version. Eventually I will get the full retail version here since I am always running into a new distro or newer version of GParted to try out. In fact ubuntu 7.10 is presently the default OS here that then loads the dual boot loader for Vista/XP.

Yeah, I've got a sister...

I don't know if the integrated on the laptop will support the 3D Desktop...

I ran beryl on my HP NC4200 which had a 960 integrated intel video card, it ran OK, but it ran.

What do you mean, like check the hardware specs of the laptop from with in the OS? There should be a hardware control panel you can access which lists all components installed.
