Not familiar, I use OS X and Debain, and sometimes Suse/Redhat enterprise linux, nothing else really.

Now to answer that the live cd installs are quite a bit limited over downloading the full install images for 2-4 cd-rs to see a full version of a distro go on. You also will have more options for trying different desktops written and designed for this particular Debian distro.

SuSe must be a lot more like Fedora also being a Red Hat distro there. The Red Hat distros are typically more server orientated. I have to readiy agree with tlarkin about SIS chipsets. Those are foobar...! And VIA doesn't seem to do much better either at times.
