Hi I just want to know if I downgrade from vista to xp, will xp create a backup folder with all my old files like when I upgraded from xp to vista, it makes a folder called windows.old. Will this happen when I downgrade or do I manually have to back up my files using an external hard drive?

You will need to cteate backup files. Also microsoft will not allow you to downgrade their products...you will need to reformat the HD and do a fresh install of XP.

do you need the stuff that you added since you chagned to vista? if not just take the Windows.old folder and put it on a DVD or another drive, depending on how big the file is. otherwise, to backup you pretty much just have to pick and hcoose what you want to keep, then transfer it to another kind of media. there is no magic program that will automatically know everyhting you want and be able to transfer it back to XP. also, be prepared to reinstall all the programs you want that dont come with XP. gluck.
