Default What dvd burner should I get?

I want to buy a dvd burner. I have about $50 but would prefer not to spend it all. I built my computer so there is no brand. I'm not sure what cables it uses and i'm not sure if that matters or not but if it does could someone tell my how to tell what ones i have. I just want a regular dvd burner/reader that will work fairly fast. I have a 450w power supply. Thanks

i would reccomend a SATA dvd drive, but because you dont know about your motherboard i would get an IDE drive because most old and new computers have at least one IDE input:

if you prefer an external or dont want to install your drive then:

That is in the price range, is IDE, has the fastest speed and cache.

I always enjoyed Lite-on (because my last one went for over 8 years after making it's first noise... Followed by breaking a disc after another year).
