Default can anyone help me set up a wireless modem?

hi...here is my problem. I have my own wirelss modem so my ISP wont help me set up (however i did later buy one of their wireless modems and they still didn't help, lol) anyways to connect to the internet I have to connect to two different things. i have to connect to a wireless network and I set up a broadband connection i have to connect to in order to connect to the net. I have to connect to both of them in order to connect to the net...which i know is odd. not only is connecting to both when I dont have to annoying, but it makes my PS3 no able to connect online. is there some setting in the 192.168.2.1 place that I should be changing. my modem has all my ISP info in it, but for some reason i still need the broadband account to connect. any help would be great. I have a gateway 2 wire wireless modem by the way
