Default explorer.exe problem

Hi,

I recently had a trojan horse virus and after I cleaned it out of the computer my desktop icons and windows desktop display on the bottom of the screen have disappeared. When I control/alt/delete I can run explorer.exe but it pops in and out of the processes list in the task manager a few times before disappearing completely. That leaves me with no desktop icons, 'start' icon, or programs and clock on the right-hand side in the corner. Can anyone help me make my computer go back to normal?

Go to your task manager. Click File and New Task. Then just type C: and click ok. It should reload explorer.exe

Default C: Doesn't Work

When I put 'C:' under 'new task' in the task manager I get an error message. Is there something else I should type besides just 'C:'??

You get an error message and you press cancel and everything should load up.
