Question Firefox bookmarks - Updates

Hey Guys,

i just updated ff as i normally do and as this has happened i have lost all of my book marks that ive been saving for a good time now!

i mean there just not there anymore! is there anyway i can retrieve these as i really dont want to lose them!

also has this happened to anyone else before?

When i updated it went back to my old bookmarks it got from IE..... and lost all my new ones....

ah and you dont get them back? is this just ff trying to be a pain or a bug or just what it does?

ah its means more hours and hours of searching. is there anyway i keep my bookmarks safe for the next update?

go bookmarks>organise bookmarks>file>export>then save them

I assume you are running Windows, so take a look in this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*\bookmarkbackups

- USER is your username
- * is whatever your Firefox has named your profile

You should find some HTML backups, which you can then Import by opening Firefox browser and doing the following:

1) Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks...
2) In the dialog that opens: File -> Import -> From File
3) Navigate to the folder listed above and choose one of your backup HTML files

Hopefully there will still be a backup there you can use.
