I was copying stuff over from another HD since I want to pull the old, but it took >2 hours to move 24 gigs. I then tried a program to split a movie doing to a different drive takes about 90 seconds for the 4.5 gigs. Then I tried to do this to the new one. It took 16 minutes. (so reading is as slow as writing) What the hell is up with this? When I installed it I chose dynamic, and a quick format. Does this have anything to do with the problem?
This thing is insanely slow. ![]() It's a new WD 500 gig with 16mb buffer SATA II. I bought 3 of them but found out I don't have enough places on the MB to plug them in and need to get a raid card.
