Default Wanting to do a reinstall of windows

I'd like to do a clean reinstall of windows xp because my computer needs it. However, my manufacturer only gave me a recovery CD. I've been emailing them to no avail as to whether or not they could possibly give me the original disc. I was just wanting to confirm that the recovery cd will not work (I've swapped out the GPU, CPU, added RAM, new NIC) Paying full price for a new OS is ridiculous.
Also, if I did do a reinstall, where would I get the drivers for the onboard sound, usb hub drivers etc? I have the drivers for things such as my GPU, NIC, but I don't know how to get the others.

From what I read in your post, your recovery discs will work ok. Changing the RAM, adding a NIC and VC won't change the use of the recovery discs. What matters is if you have the original motherboard, which it appears that you do. So go ahead with your reinstall.

You will be able to do a full system recovery but not a new install!! They are virtually both the same except you dont format your hdd. All you do is boot up and go to system recovery and put the disks in as prompted. Your pc will be just like it was when you got it.
