Here's a copy of the email I just sent alienware support:

My Alienware "Agent Account" Number is ******. The product I am having a problem is the Area-15 m15x. The problem I am experiencing is that when the laptop is "working," the response rate of the keyboard drops dramatically. Essentially, if the computer is downloading or installing any program, or if a game is running, the keyboard responds very poorly. This is NOT a matter of keyboard settings in the Windows control panel. I have thoroughly tested all options, and I am certain that the issue is unrelated. If a download, installation, or intensive program is running, the keyboard will slow down its response dramatically, to the point that several keystrokes will go unregistered. This makes typing very frustrating and difficult. Since I have determined that this problem is unreleated to the control panel, or anything under the "Ease of Access" panel, I am not sure what to try next. Any information would be very helpful. Thank you.

callidor! it's you from nbr... You should post here now that I'm a computerforum member...

@callidor; I don't think the bios update or any update has fixed the respond time.. You should wait for a response from them, and as a last resort you can send it in for a new keyboard or they will send you one.
