I assume you have done standard tests for spy/malware and viruses?

Have you done any automatic updates lately with success?

I would try rebooting into safe mode (continuously press F8 after the POST screen, then choose Safe Mode from the Advanced Menu) and running Internet Explorer from there.

If it gives you the same error, it doesn't really tell you that much, but if it runs in Safe Mode then it tells you that something else is conflicting with it in Normal Mode (as opposed to it being a straight IE issue). Might help pin down the cause.

Then IE is def infected or something. Go to the security section on here and post a hijackthis log in a new thread with a title specific to your problem! Someone will most likely tell you what to do and help you.

Good idea except IE should be fixed for automatic updates and if its infected you want to disinfect it so it doesnt harm the rest of your pc.
