Default Is this too high temps for my E8400?

Hi..

I've begun overclocking a bit with my stock cooler. And I'm reaching some pretty high temps(I think). Or a least thats what Real Temps tells me I am.

Is it normal temps?

NOTE: the high temps were while runnig 3dmark06 and the cpu is running at a multiplier of 9 when stressed.

yeah they are high. what cooler do you have on the cpu? is it the one that came with the E8400?
they are pretty decent cooler's but not the best.

what thermal paste did you use? or did you buy it pre built?

also, what other cooling do you have in the case? do you have enough air blowing in so its fresh cool air? and is there enough air being sucked out of the case?

what fans and where in the case are they?

The E8400s have been known to have problems with their temperature sensors. As in they display inaccurate temperatures.

I've got the Antec 900 case as written in my sig. I'm using the stock cooler and I haven't used any thermalpaste. Think I read somewhere that it was pre-applied? But the weird thinkg is, that if I feel in front of the cooler while stressing the CPU max, the air that the cooler blows out is nowhere near warm ? So could it be a censor error?

I've just ordered the artic cooler pro 7 BTW.

Make sure the cooler is attached properly!! Mine wasn't although it looked like it was and I almost fried mine!! It went up to 100+ degrees in the bios!! Core Temp reported 126 degrees. Touch the HSF and see weather it's hot or not.

Also make sure your sensors are fine with the test sensors. Real temp works great for the E8400. One of my sensors is partially stuck I think...

HSF? Heatsinkfan? I just wrote in my earlier post that it wasn't hot at all, if it is the the air from the fan though?

You betcha HSF= Heat sink Fan!

Whoops I must have skipped over it.If it wasn't hot at all then make sure it's making proper contact.

What happened when you went test sensors?
