Default Setup My 1st Server

I am setting up an openssh-server and don't understand this one part and I was hoping someone could help me out. I was setting up static Ip and need to make an edit to the interfaces file. It calls for the following:
IP Address: I understand
Netmask: I understand
Network: I assume its my router address.
Broadcast: Unsure
Gateway: Unsure
It showed me numbers like:
192.168.1.156
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.0
192.168.1.255
192.168.1.254

By the way this is my first setup ever. I know something isn't right but I just can't figure out what? Please help. Thanks

I'm a little confused on what you are asking here, or what you are trying to do... but, if the computer in question is the first time being a File Server, depending on the OS... (i.e. SBS 2003 R2 or 2008) usually the OS helps with this, but if this Home Server, it should be simple and direct!

Setting static IP's will help the NIC/LAN adapter in the box, and then attaching a hub and then communicating with it should prevent the issue, but perhaps you are doing something a bit different than most?!?!?!

Tell me more on what you are trying to do?!

Default Setup My 1st Server - Fixed

I fixed the problem yesterday. It was actually quite simple. When I was collecting all of my IP's I failed to realize that I had a different address for my lan and my wireless network. So once I figured this out and added it to the permissions is was all good.
