What code do I need, and where does it go on my Source Code for my website?

I want a welcome box to appear when the Homepage loads.

Like, 'Hi.. Welcome..'

So after the page loads you want a modal popup box saying welcome? For the love of god why?

Yeah, yeah.. I later found out W3Schools has a tutorial on there, but I got confused with where it goes..

I am having second thoughts on it though..
