Default sharing partition with network

I done it before. working to many hours and have to ask why it does not work. 5 computers with xp pro and home edition. network name on all computers MSHome. shared drive. still does not work. cant find it. says something about checking with administrator. the laptop shares the printer just fine. all the others have there own. i clicked on help and queried troubleshoot. choose sharing and hard-drives. says something about running some kind of share disk on each computer. i don't have a share disk. i dropped the firewall and allowed all while troubleshooting. same problem. the only way i can get it working and works great is ftp. not an issue. it just urks me i can't figure it.
thanks for any help.

Have they all joined the "Workgroup" MS HOME? Make sure, it might be something corrupted with Windows. If you are trying to create a peer-to-peer network, it should see the other computers and back once they join the workgroup. Try pinging them, see if they communicate by IP address.
