Question undoing partitions?

so i found my old HDD and i just formated it and turned it into an external hdd and i was wondering if there is any way to undo the partition

You can delete the partition and create a new one or leave it unpartitioned. What exactly are you trying to do with the hard drive?

how would i delete the partition? and would i get all my old space back??

and ummmm I'm just using it as like extra storage and maybe back up my computer files onto it

is there some sort of free third part software to undo it? or even better. just somehow use XP's tools or some sort to undo it?
