why speaker volume is so low on Dell Inspiron 530

I just got the Dell Inspiron 530. I am trying to use speakers (the speakers are from an old HP desktop and are simplest, no power cord, just two speakers). The speakers works fine on my old HP. However, on my new Dell Inspiron 530, the speaker volume is very low. I have set all kinds of volumes to the maximum.

What do you think is the problem? Do I have to buy an expensive speaker? (on my Dell Inspiron 530, the monitor is DVI linked, in contrast, on my old HP computer the monitor is VGA lined, could that be a problem)

hmm.... it just has to do with the power of the amplifier inside of the laptop. its probably just that.
is the old HP youre speaking of a laptop or a desktop?
