Default Q9450 is it really worth it?

I am thinking about purchasing the new dell xps 630 and overclocking the cpu. I dont' konw if they will ever come out with the Q9450 for it, but is it possibly worth my time in waiting instead of getting the Q6600? I guess what I want to know is what are the main differences and is it worth mine or anyones time?

eh, i have the q9450 and i cant overclock that far, but i think its my crappy DDR3 RAM. i have the Zalman 9700 but once i do something with the RAM, i bet i could get like 3.60. i can only go to 2.954. That's really fast though!!

You cant overclock from Dell computers, they lock the BIOS.

/\/\/\ yea. well, you could flash the bios but then u risk the warrenty and motherboard. If you want to overclock, build your it yourself. And if you on a tight budget the Q6600 will not only suffice but it is also not much worse, in fact when comparing my q6600 to derik's q9450 (he is my best friend/neighbor), we really dont notice a difference.

I was going to build tillthe xps 630 came out. This newly designed computer is built around overclocking. The bios is not locked and they even included software for overclocking. Thank you for your responces but I still would like a solid answer.
