Default XP on second machine

I have a copy of XP that I want to put onto a second machine. Now I know it has licencing issues in cases like this, I just want to know if windows will function if there are updating issues (Im not concerned about the updates, PC is behind a router and PC used for storage more than anything). Also, the machine I want to update has 4 partitions on it and currently has Win98SE. If I format the C and install XP, how will this effect the other partitions?? Will they still be accessable??

Cheers.

The other partitions will still be accessable and the install of xp on the second machine should go alright. Did you buy the xp cd or did it come with a computer?

I built the computer and bought the cd. What if I removed the hard drive and put it in the computer with the original install then put the harddrive back in the other machine, would that work??

It should work. I believe you get 2 or 3 installs before it will lock up on you. I think with dells and xp there is alot more though.
