So far I love my new Fujitsu laptop. Performance, quality, everything is so much better than my old HPs. However, I have noticed a rather odd problem.
Sometimes when I come back, I find the laptop says it's "Plugged in, not charging", while the battery sits at anywhere between 90-99%. Many people say this is to prevent overcharging and such. Besides Lithium batteries having built-in circuitry to do this, the laptop is now stating it's "Fully charged" at 100%. Some people say this is an issue with Vista. Honestly, I don't believe it is seeing as the problem also occurs in suspend. Perhaps I'm wrong, but wouldn't any charging. This really isn't a problem as I've never really needed the full 100% of battery life. Yes, it seems to have an adverse affect on the life, but only when it doesn't full charge. When I get to 100%, I still get around 3 hours out of it.

I like the new tablet PCs. Teachers at school have them - they are cool and the school we be giving them to students next year - but at a cost.

I can't remember if I posted it here, but I worked on a Fujitsu a while back. It was one of their 9" machines if I remember correctly. Besides the keyboard being way too small for my hands, I absolutely loved it! It's what really sold me on the brand...

i used to have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438G laptop... gave it to my brother now, i loved it, it was the best computer i have had to date, aside from it being heavy i had no problems with it.
i would definitely buy another one in the future.

That's a 12". My friends laptop was apparently an 8.9"
They are definitely not the lightest laptops around. My particular model is about 7lbs, but damn it feels sturdy!

Haha, it seems most all their smaller laptops have some form of tablet/touch-screen functionality. One Fujitsu I was looking at with a Transmeta processor had a touch screen in it (not a tablet that required a pen, you could use your finger). Actually the photoed machine uses the same style, but the screen is hinged so it can be folded and all.
I read somewhere that my particular laptop had one of the best screens among the sub-$1000 laptops. I don't think I got the particular screen they were referring to (one for $100 more had a better screen of some sort) but I'm very pleased with it, that's for sure! I can't say it's any worse than the HP was... Perhaps better as I never cared for that glossy crap!
