Default Praetor, heres the news.........

Havn't posted in awhile. But I recieved my Radeon 9700 PRO (250/250) card quite a while back.

Plugged it in, and worked just fine. Games ran O.K. (especially HL2)...though Doom 3 could run better. Then I found it it was underclocked...and I simply couldnt overclock it any or it would crap out.

Pulled out my Asus manual, and it says "Do not use the radeon 9700/9800 series with rev. XXblah blah due to stability and performance issues. Just so happens mine was THE older revision. The guy who sold it to me wont take it back...so I took it out and threw back in my trustee ol' Radeon 8500, and through the 9700 PRO in the closet. Its now going in dad's PC, so he can do some half-life 2'in.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and snatched a Geforce 6600 GT AGP (XFX) for about $170. Ordered my first S-ATA HDD as well.

As I was reading, the 6600 GT creams the Radeon 9700 PRO over and over again...

Nvidia has the market for under $200 video cards.

I also ordered $3000 of computer parts, building 3 more home units...all athlon 64's with 6600 GT's

Its going to be hay day (or nerd day) when it all shows up

So im gonna be pretty happy to finally get a system to match today's standards!

Also got that cool Codegen case...
