Default laptop for college

hey guys im going to college virtually after i graduate so i need to get a laptop soon. but i have no idea what im looking for in a laptop. i know alot about desktops but laptops i know nothing so i need some help =)

umm only thing i ask is that its a windows computer because i would like everything to be compatable with my desktop at home. other than that my budget is about $1000. i can go up to $1300 but im not going more than that lol so please help =)

well if you don't plan on doing any serious gaming then just go with dell or toshiba but if you want to do some gaming I believe you can go to cyberpowerpc.com and I believe they have some decent lower end gaming computer's for your price that way you got a good college computer and something for gaming.

i dont know i havent decided if i wanted to game or not, as of right now im not gaming but things might change cuz i used to be a gamer and once a gamer always a gamer.

I have a Dell, 1.86 gig Turion64 x2, 120 gig hard drive, 2 gig ram and 128 meg ati graphics card and this computer cost me 600$.

I love my Fujitsu. If you can get something through Costco, I you get a really nice warranty. I just have the cheapest model, but they have various others you can pick from.
