Unhappy Plz Help I Dont Know What's Going On

I have a XFX Nvidia geforce 8400gs, when i am playing computer games such as Crysis and Flight Simulator X it will run fine until a random moment when it will lock up and make a funny vibrating sort of noise on the same note of that the game has just played before going wrong. (sorry if this doesnt make sense)
It has been doing this for ages and it is doing my head in.
I am pretty sure that it is the Graphics Card because my intergrated one works fine, it is just EXTREMELY SLOW.
I need help to diagnose this problem and maybe suggest ways in which i could fix it

thanx so much

i tried reinstalling my drivers and it didnt work... The noise is coming from my speakers... When it locks up the only thing i can do is restart it by the button... I cant even press num lock on my keyboard... It seems to lock up mostly when i am either taking off from the ground to reveal all of the scenery in flight simulator and when i am killing an enemy or being surrounded by enemies in Crysis... Hope that helped
