It certainly would! You would want to get an external Harddrive case, which you will put the drive in and it will connect via USB to the PC. Make sure it matches the drive (either SATA or IDE).

aight, preciate it guys. you've been a ton of help.
basically me and my brother both got the same computer a couple years back. but he fried his mother board, and bought a new computer. so i was wanting to take his hard drive out of his old computer, and connect as a backup/external on mine so i can store all my music on one |

That is a good idea, but most mobos only give you a IDE port for optical drives...
You'll need to format it first.
