Default Help with a new system?

Okay, I'm finally going to buy a new system, but I'm on a budget of about 1500.00 and I was just wondering what the general thoughts were as far as what to get are? I'm leaning towards the e8400, 8800 gts, and then Im still sort of up in the air about the mobo. Any ideas, suggestions, or if those choices are just completely worthless, I'd love to know. Thanks in advance for the help!

Everything Ive read says that intel is better than AMD, unless you plan to just game, which is probably what I'm going to do. Plus I've used AMD pretty much since my first computer. So really I'm not dead set on amd vs intel, and any opinions would be appreciated. Would love to run sli, and possibly overclock a bit, but honestly not sure if thats capable with my budget.

IMO, you follow reddevil6's list. Drop the 2 x 3870 to a single 8800GTS 512MB. And drop that full tower case to a $70 - 80 mid tower. And thus, this allow $300-350 for a nice 22" monitor
