Default new video card not compatable?

I bought a new ATI x1300 pro from store. When i install on my montherboard, there is no display on the monitor at all.
here is the info:

Motherborad: ASUS P5GZ-MX

Old video card: EVGA e-Gforce 7600GT

New video card: ATI x1300 pro 256 mb

There is an onboard vga card coming with the mother board and i have already disable it. when the new card had been installed, i can see the fan is running and mouse, keyboard is running too, but there is no display. If i shut down the computer and replace the old video card, everything is working fine. i checked the device manager, the system can not scan the new card at all. My question is 1: is this new video card compatable with my motherboard at all? 2: if so, do i need to some how uninstall or delete the old nivida card? is there any conflit there? Thank you and online waiting for the answer.
