Basically, I am going to purchase a Wireless N desktop card, and it says it has speeds of up to 300 MBPS. It says it is backwards compatible with wireless B/G networks. So if this card were connect to a wireless G router, could I still have the 300 MBPS transfer speed w/o the wireless N router?
Thanks in advance =) Link for card: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1157068455017

Unfortunately, you do get the slower speed, which will be 54mbps. Although if you can afford a Wireless N Router, Id recommend Linksys WRT300N. Its an excellent router. I am connected at 270Mbps and I am roughly 60ft away from the router.

Once I bought the router, I connect right to my modem, correct? My modem also acts as a wireless router, so could I connect the router to my PC and connect the router to the modem/wireless-g router wirelessly? Also, would wireless N be better for multiplayer gaming, I am sick of these wireless G adapters that cause so much lag.
