xp wont start

hi all first post here hope your all well
i have a problem, xp will start in safe mode not normal and this is when all services and process's turn off apart form vital ones
what will happen is it will still ,start get to the loading screen and then disappear go black pause and restart computer as i said will start in safe mode but always fail in normal i have noticed on msconfig that a couple of strange things were starting in the background but they have now been turned off, i am also thinking that they may be a problem within the registary but i have no way to find out for sure
any suggestions people?

You PC sounds like it is blue screening. You need to find out what error it has. If you restart the PC, keep pressing F8 just after BIOS, It will present you with a menu which will have different start options, near the bottom there of the list there will be an option to disable auto restart (or something like that). Select that option then it will give you a blue screen, I need to know the error message.
