Default Quality problema with w/less headphones

So, I have a pair of wireless headphones, some brand I've never heard of before (Tevion). The problem is that, they keep making all kinds of crackling sound while I'm gaming or listening to music, and it is really annoying. Sometimes it sounds just fine (very rarely), usually keeps cracking and popping and sometimes the quality is just horrible! The transmitter-thingy is no more than, say, 1mt away. As I already said, sometimes it sounds really good, so there should be a way to get better quality out of them, but dunno how...

I've tried using different frequencies (there's three options to choose from), sometimes changing it helps but it's only temporary.

Anyone know what I should do now?

Also, I've noticed that sometimes these seem to have absolutely horrible bass response... is this normal or...?

1.the first explanation that i can think of is that you have a wireless network in your house...if so, your probably running 802.11b/g which both run around 2.4 GHz...as do most of the wireless apperati out today, choose a frequency thats as far from that as possible...that being said, your head phones probably dont have a very wide frequency range to choose from so it may not make any difference because wireless routers saturate a certain frequncy band.

2.second, if you don't have a wireless network (and even if you do) the cracking and popping could be caused by normal noise sources(obviously the one you can't hear like radio waves) that are broadcasting strongly in your area...or another wireless network close by, say at your neighbors house(although i doubt that they are transmitting with that much power, unless u live in an apartment then it only has to go through a wall instead of across the street and through 2 or more walls).

the cure for number 1 is to upgrade to the new wireless 802.11n draft that operates at 5 GH (and is much, much faster)

the cure for number 2 is much more involved and i would say that unless (with the exception of your neighbors running wieless, you can may be able to ask them to move it or turn down the trasmit power(very few people know how to do this) you're willing to repaint your house with iron laiden paint (which is a real product) then you are probably SOL

hope this helps

1. Don't got wireless...
2. We're renting, and I'd feel kinda funny painting brick houses anyway...

Thanks for the reply. I guess #1 could be it, but I'm living in a city and take it that I can't go up to the biggest broadcasters and tell them to stop coz they're messing up my w/less headphones
