what's the opinion on the best AV software that doesn't boggle down a system? haven't used any in a few years, but i've been leeching/seeding torrents alot lately.
used to use norton a few years ago, but the new version seems to ruin performance for just about any system. honestly i just want something reliable, doesn't use alot of resources, and can be disabled when i'm doin important stuff like recording, encoding, burning, etc. |

I agree with AVG. I can't tell any real adverse effects on my machine while it's running in the background. It's probably about as good as you can get(for free, for low resource, etc)
