Angry internet problems, help

i recently built my computer and it was working awesome and everything worked. i first hooked it up to the modem(ethernet) and that worked. then i went and bought a linskys router and a USB wireless adapter. that worked for about a month until it suddenly stopped working. i called linskys tech support and they told me i have a defective device... so i replaced it, but still i cant connect. even when i tryed to connect with an ethernet cable. it always says, "limited or no connectivity..." ?????? so i tryed to manually configure the i.p. adress, but that didnt work. under device manager there are no question marks either. so i guess its the mobo?networking controller? can i buy a new networking controller?
and buy the way, i have a linskys router, 2wire modem, and a linskys adapter(USB).
thanks for the help guys. and girls

Try unplugging the router and modem from the wall and then plug them back in and restart the pc. That should effectivly reset everything!

First of all, linksys is GARBAGE.

Here is what you need to do.

1. Plug your PC directly into the modem.
2. Turn on your PC
3. Power down your modem
4. Wait 30 seconds
5. Turn your modem back on

For routers, I very highly recommend the D-Link Xtreme N Gaming Router.
Even if you dont play games, it is the fastest router I have ever owned.

It could very well be the port on your motherboard.
Just buy a PCI modem card, they go for like $20, you can get them at BestBuy or Circuit City.
