I am not sure exactly what you are answering here, but to clarify something safari is not based off of the Mozilla project, it is in fact a webkit browser.

There are plug ins for Safari, but it is not as popular as Firefox to the open source community.

I personally also use Firefox on my Mac, mainly because of the plug ins I am so accustomed to.

I use safari on friends mac but i have just gone back to Firefox on the desktop for the plug-ins - i'll let my friend know about these plug-ins they should be good.... i hope
