After googling abit, it seems it won't be compatible with a c2d, despite being an LGA775 board (altogether common). You can call up ECS and confirm this incompatibility if you want to be certain. However it will accept a Pentium D 9xx, while not equal to the C2D chips, is probably of good site better than your current Cel D.

This Mobo is supporting P4, PD and Celeron D.
The best way is upgrade the Mobo as well.

...depends on the budget, but I'd probably go with hermeslyre's idea. Pentium Ds should be pretty cheap now that intel's dumped NetBurst, and they're a great(?) deal faster than the celeron you've currently got, and also happen to be dual-core which is a little plus. For the "normal stuff" (surfing, music, movies, word processing and so on) and light-to-medium-wieght gaming Pentium Ds should be just fine, probably even better than just fine, I do believe...

Yeah slight problem, with the current processors, we can't upgrade it, because your motherboard is a Pentium D and also your motherboard supports a max of 1GB of ram.

What is your budget??? i + other members can help you upgrade, motherboard, processor and more ram
