Default Pentiums

if a mobo on newegg says it's pentium d compatible, and it has the correct fsb, will it also be compatible with a pentium dual-core?(Yes, I know they are Different...)

Not always, the Pentium Dual-Core is based off of the Core 2 Duo, not the Pentium 4. The motherboard needs to state that it's compatible with Pentium Dual-Cores.

ok, thanks. what if it says pentium e sereies, b/c the pentium dual-cores are all e2xxx?
