Default TF2 Gold Rush Released!!

http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=news

I'm downloading the update now, can't wait to play it! They also made several other new changes and fixes, my favorite being that spies can take teleporters now without showing the teleporter trail.

Just to let people who don't have TF2 know. You can play it for free this weekend (May 2 -4) .Pretty good marketing plan eh? Here's the Link!

The new load out screen looks awesome from the screenshots and goldrush looks pretty sweet too. I'm downloading the update now. I just hope they don't mess everything up by making any class's better than others. Right now it seems fairly balanced and thats what I like about this game. Plus it's a ton of fun!

EDIT:I played Goldrush and it is a really good map I thought. There's parts where it's hard to pass the cart through, in cases like these valve has put little side entrances which lead off to flank the defense.Great map design.

TF2 looks like it's going to become partly an RPG game as well as FPS, with the ability to buy/upgrade weapons as you unlock more and more achievements.

But wow, it took about 15 minutes to find any open gold rush server last night!

I found a decent server and I played it for a while. Sniper is a lot better on gold rush than others I reckon.

Yup. I played sniper last night for a while on that map. There are plenty of places to get sweet angles and distance without too much worry. An opposing sniper can cause issues but most people tend to fight it out right around the bomb (as expected), so its easy pickings.

I like the map a lot but I think it needs a little balancing since snipers and heavies are super overpowered at points in the map. All the defending team needs is one or two heavies with a medic and they will dominate as the bomb rounds a corner. Snipers also seem to have been made for the map as there are lots of places where they seem pretty much invincible. Or maybe I just haven't figured out a good counter strategy yet.
