Default installing linux

i want to install linux on the machine in my sig. when people say "dual boot" dont they mean on the same hard drive? i want to install it on a seperate drive. will i still be able to boot into either drive or will i have to go into bios everytime i want to switch? as long as the two different OS's are on different drives nothing should overlap correct? or will i have problems with memory, or what? some help would be very appreciated. forgive me if i sound like a nooB

yes you can dual boot with two hard drives, just make sure when you are in the phase of installing grub, make sure the first hard drive is able to be seen and setup as a secount option

sometimes. its hard to explain but it will say install grub bootloader and below should be the os'es that it can boot form, if there are two then you should be fine, if there is only one then you need to ass it which you just slect the windows drive and it will do the rest. however im not sure on suse so i cant speek from experince on that one
