Default Intel X48 vs nVidia 790i Ultra

Hi all,

I am just browsing through some websites and heard some good reviews on Intel X48 chipset for mainboard. But I realised the specs and features offered by X48 and 790i are very different. One seems to be more efficient for normal working, while the other one is more suitable for gaming. So hope to check if what I implied was correct?

And also, hope to hear about some of your experiences working with X48 and 790i if possible.

Many thanks!

im not too familiar with enthusiast type boards but really basic difference is 790i only does SLI and x48 only supports crossfire. other than that, both can be used to OC really high with the right settings

the evga 790i ultra sli is by far the superior board. supports tri and quad SLI, better support for 45nm cpu's and it set the world 3dmark06 record.

best board on the market today.
