Default Will this harm my computer?

Ok earlier i posted a thread about my computer shutting off. Then someone told me to "Right click on the desktop, select 'properties'.Click the screensaver tab, click the 'power' button.Adjust these setting as desired."
and it was on energy star so i put it to home/office. Will this harm it or is it ok? Or is there any other setting i should put it on? Thanx.
