Default Sticky Mouse :(

hi my dad has a computer with a sticky mouse, every few seconds especialy as loading takes place it will stick for say 1, 2, or 3 sec. I have tested it with a known good usb mouse from my comp and have tried it using a ps2 converter with still the same problem. I thought it must be a bad driver and as i format was on the cards i decided just to do that ahead of plan but the problem remains more worryingly it does it during the vista setup. anyone have any ideas.

core 2 duo 2.4
ECS 570 SLIT-A SLI
x2 Nvidia 7800gt's
xfi extreme music
4gb crucial value ram
2 IDE hd's

ps i have tried removing one of the gfx card and it made no difference.

It's probably some program running in the background causing the machine to lag. I'd suggest scanning for spyware, viruses, and posting the hijackthis log here.

This happens to me when my CPU is under load, so I would check out what's going on in your task manager.

well thanks for that, nice.

anyway sorry for the late response, the problem has been fixed and is a problem with the XFI would you believe it, messing up the interupt order, but a workaround on the creative kb fixed this.
