I've been thinking about upgrading my computer, semi future proofing it.
I think this is the same exact card I have, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150252 I bought mine in-store, but everything seems to match up. I dont have an SLI motherboard, whats a good one? Whats a good future proof CPU? And is it worth it, to SLI and 8800GT? I dont plan on buying the 9 Series anytime soon. Are the 8800's out-dated or will they be soon? Thanks.

I wouldn't try to "future proof" your PC, as you seem to be like me and get something new every few months, lol.
I would not buy two 8800GT's either, I would just get a single 9 series video card.

evga 750i ftw is a mobo worth looking into, if you plan on sli, and i think its kind of ment to be overclocked, its got a cmos reset button, and a power button for not having to jump the terminals

I definitely agree that the SLI 8800GTs are not worth it, my friend has 2 OCd and the performance gains are minimal

In general SLI gains are fairly minimal, I doubt it would be entirely that much different based on the mobo chipset.

noi sli waste of money...keep your 8800GT for a bit because it will be able to handle most games for some time yet.
then what you would have spent on that second 8800GT put in the el banko and upgrade your gfx card at a later date.

I also agree with OMEGA. Invest in a quality GeForce 9 card. SLi motherboards are a waste... and hard to get a good one...
