Default need help with sata hd

hi im new here. i just installed a maxtor sata hd on my msi corecell k8t neo2 motherboard. bios sees it and sata is enabled, but the problem is windows setup wont see it. i pressed f6 for driver and put my floppy in with the sata driver, but it keeps asking for the manufacturer supplied support disk. why wont it work?
do i need to update my bios where it has more sata configurations or something?

i formatted it, put the files on the disk, and put it in. it wont take it. as far as i can tell its the right driver, i got it off of the msi site. its for winxp64, thats what im gonna install.
but i was curious about my bios, ive never updated it. it sees the sata drive in the boot order, but it doesnt come up on the ide device list. does that matter?
