Well, depends on what you're gonna use the comp for. Since it's Alienware, I'd like to think it's for gaming so really it's not gonna help that much over the Athlon X2 6000+

I would suggest you buy it from somewhere else. That computer is not worth more than $1500. Alienware is way overpriced. Have you thought about Dell? Of course, if money is not a problem, go ahead with Alienware.

As a side question, would you be interested in building it yourself?

Well, then I guess that Alienware with the Phenom is the best option.

Now, as far as I know, Alienware does not make comps based on Intel processors (which are currently more efficient than AMD). So if you really want a good gaming rig and money is not an option, I'd recommend a Dell XPS Gaming comp instead or a pre-built comp from Newegg.

Maybe something like this:

Comp:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883227052

Monitor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001094

TOTAL w/Shipping: $1566.45 US

And WAY better than that Alienware comp

Building a computer is really easy, It's not all that technical actually. Just plug everythig in the only way it fits.

Yeah, it's pretty easy actually. If you want to, theres even two guides (with steps+pictures) on this forum for building a computer.

I'm going to have to agree, building is fairly easy and it is rewarding... At the least it is worth looking into.

agree with whats been said about building a computer.
every part comes with a diagram on how to install each part.

if your not confident enough to do it, go to newegg and buy a pre built computer.

2,500 will buy you a monster of a computer compared to that alienware piece of crap.
