I discovered this today when trying to view a youtube video. I have no explorer sounds what so ever. Nothing in Internet explorer, none of the Windows sound scemes play anything. BUT I get perfect sound out of Media player and iTunes. It's a Realtek HD 5.1. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Someone on the internet mentioned changing something in the sounds schemes and I tried that also. My sound card is listed in device manager, and when I open the realtek config app, all the test work fine, just nothing in explorer. I have searched the internet up and down and found an article on the MSDN forums that lists this very problem, but they didn't provide an answer on how to fix it. If somebody has any suggestions on what to do I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks. |

Have you looked in Advanced Options in IE and made sure that Play animations in web pages and Play sounds in web pages are checked?
