Default I need your input

I'm currently branching more into specialty products and services than ever before. I'm now starting into home theater pc and remote controlled home automation. I need some ideas. Niche markets. Anything to do with computers, the latest technologies.

I would love some ideas and links. Thanks.

Edit: For example, one thing I'm going to be doing sooner or later is computerizing cars.. If anyone has any fan sites on that I'd be greatful.

Have you ever used mass mailing as a way to market your business? Here in Sacramento, printing companies do it at a resonable price, and it can be an effective way to canvas an area. You know, one or two pages marketing the HTPC *and* the remote automation system. In some cases, I could see a customer purchasing both products. Especially if they're a tech geek like myself.

You obviously want to focus on a certain income bracket, with a high amount of disposable income.

haha. Disposable income is Gross Income - Taxes. But yeah, basically. I probably should've said Discretionary Income, which is Income - Tax - Necessities (food, clothing, utilities, etc.). In other words, like you said, people with a fair amount of money.

I'm currently aiming at the 60k+ demographic, yes. One of our current campaigns specifically targets $500k + homes in a specific area.

So yes, high income families are my target at the moment. Also, specialty markets you're not bound by competition and forced to compete/branding/etc.

So yeah, any ideas of pushing computers to the limits?

Well since you're target the high income market, your HTPC's should not sacrifice anything for money. You'll want to make sure that it runs as close to silent as possibl, so that it's inaudible from normal TV watching distance. A computer, especially an HTPC, just doesn't make a good first impression if it's loud.

Also, use those cases with big touch LCD screens (like the one you have). You'll probably want to use top-of-the-line aftermarket coolers on all the components, and replace all fans with ones that are known to be quiet. The computers should also come with Blu-ray players (if not burners).

They do all that. They're almost silent from thermaltake. I'm also selling Silverstone.

I need an idea of other specialty markets as well. Anything that is based on a PC.

Maybe low profile power houses? High end PCs based on shoe-box cases or the Silverstone SG03s.

Okay, I think I misunderstood what you're looking for in this thread. You're looking for ideas for a new product, correct?
