Default logitech z-540

i bought these today and am having a problem with my monitor shaking a lot because the weight of the speaker unbalances the weight of the monitor. anyone had this problem?

also i was removing the top part of the desk and it hit the monitor speaker and it slammed into the lcd...doesn't look like it hurt anything, but it happened nevertheless. i would have probably noticed something pretty quick if the monitor got hurt, huh?

overall they sound good. haven't played any games yet. i had a sony unit hooked up via auxillary and it sounded great, but had some buzzing problems. this logitech still sounds good though. i made the switch more for aesthetic reasons--the sony speakers were huge and uncomfortable looking on my desk.

so you put them on your moniter and the weight of the speakers makes the moniter shake? if im right about what you said then try adding weight to the base of the moniter

It would probably be good to take it off the monitor.
I would suggest setting it in front or behind the monitor.

actually i think it may just be the fault of the desk for the shake. the desk had a top part with draws and cabinets and such and i took that off because i used it for nothing but to hold my speakers on from my last sound setup. i don't think it's the new speaker that causes this. i tilted the monitor back a little to keep the speaker from sliding forward and crashing onto my monitor screen though.

i went to circuit city to buy these speakers yesterday and they were listed for $99 although on circuit city's website they were $79 with a $10 rebate. when i inquired about matching online pricing, the guy didn't take note of the mail-in rebate and so he just saw 69.99 and so that's all i paid for them. haha, awesome! i am so bad about rebates anyway, especially ones for $10.

i also think the matrix feature is a joke. music sounds a lot better through the regular way it plays.

i took my speakers back and put back in the old setup i had, which is a stereo via auxillary.

i have to admit the logitech sounded great for surround sound, but music was really bad quality. the auxillary unit i have makes the music sound great.

to be honest, i'm very surprised at how many people rave about these logitech speakers, because i was not impressed at all. i would give them a 2 out of 5.
