Well, it really depends on what you're going to be using it for.

Will you be using it for school, work, gaming, basics?

not using it for gaming. basicly just want to surf the web, downloading music, watching movies and would like to be able to download torrents and surf the web at the same time without it being slow.

2 FTW.
----------
But for torrents and downloading other people and your internet play a big part. Torrents are using a system called MESH,basiclly the server will contribute 1-2mb per sec/min and the rest of the speed depends on other people that have downloaded it. (when they go online their file is actually being contributed to your download to make it faster) But 2 is good.

--------------------------------
But what you say sounds like media stuff but maybe you should just get a mac book they really are the same price.

my friend I am suggesting you not to buy a pavilion
I used 3 pavilion this year. All the 3 had a problem. In the 2 the CPU crashed and they needed change (hopefully the warranty helped) and in the other one the hard drive crashed and needed change. I have also hear a lot of people who are using pavilion, experiencing problems with them
