Question Restore Backup Help

So I reinstalled my windows vista again and b4 i did a complete system backup. now when i tried to restore my backup i said that i couldnt find the backup? could this be because i need to install SP1 before I can restore. And yes I used Vista SP1 when I made my backup. thanks.

Also does anyone kno if it will allow me to restore certain files without having to restore the whole system? cuz i did a complete system backup?

Did you use the "Backup and Restore Centre" in Control Panel?! or did you use something else, and what was it?!

I did the backup then reinstalled vista. It's on my secondary HDD (internal). I can see it, but the Backup and Restore Center doesnt.

In "Backup and Restore Centre", click restore then click Files from older an older backup. You should see it in there! If it doesn't, what does it say?

I've found a better way, In "Backup and Restore Centre", under Restore, Click "Advanced Restore", then click "Advanced Restore" (again), check "files from the latest backup made on this computer" then click "next", Check "Restore Everything in this Backup" then "next", into the original location and click "start"

Well what I do is go to the center and click "Advanced Restore" because when I just click "Restore Files" it says "There are no backups on this computer." So when I do "Advanced Restore" I can only select "Files from a backup made from a different computer" then it looks for the device and i select the location and I get an alert saying "Windows is not able to find any backup sets on D:\."

Can you find where you made the initial backup?! e.g F:/BACKUP! It is then in a folder named as the name of your computer e.g DELLVISTA. Once you find that folder, make another copy of it and copy that into another folder just to be safe. Now, do the system backup again pointing it into the same directory as you did the first time round, let it do its job and after that, copy the original backup file into the original place. After all that, in System restore click use an older backup file and use the one that matches the date and time that you initially made the backup.

Since you have not replied back, I'll take that as a problem solved...
