HL2 Problem?

This happening to anyone else? I've just installed Half Life 2 from the Orange Box disc and I can't start it up. It gets to the loading screen and then just freezes? I mean wtf is up here? Oh and I can't install TF2 without all these errors coming up saying that it can't find certain shaders, etc.

What video card do you have?

You could just use steam to download and install for you (just type in the CDkey it gave you at the appropriate time).
