YES!!!!! FINALY blu-ray is now afforadable! i saw a burner (yes im sure it was a burner) at frys for 170$!!!!! i have been waiting for this day for the last year.
unfortunatly after a tragic incident involving my cellphone and having to get a new one, i am broke so i have to wait to get a few pay checks. I cant wait to be able to write 50 GB to a disk. the unfortunate thing is i will have to make it external and carry it around where ever i want to be able to read it. btw, apj or ian, can we now add Blu-ray to the cd/dvd section since it has won the battle. HEY we can finaly edit the post title and it will update the thread!!!! THANKS IAN!!!

$170 (£85) still seems a lot for a drive. I think I'll wait for a bit for prices to go down a bit more.

It's a lot cheaper compared to what it has been before. How much does Blu-ray drives cost? I imagine most people will just need it to watch movies.

The cheapest Blu-ray drive on newegg is $130. I'm pretty sure it'll be somewhat affordable by Black Friday this year. Lets see how many people pick one up

I spent $600 on a BluRay drive just over a year ago, and we had a nasty lightning storm, and the computer power supply was temporary on an un-surged outlet and exploded
I lost everything except for my HDDs, for some reason, they were the only things to walk out, unharmed.Ill never forget the time the lights went really dim, and then the computer started hissing, crackling and smoking ![]()
